I would love to see a once a year magazine, that is a pan-telemark publication, full of awesome photos Of awesome telemark skiing, bios on telemark skiers, talk of the gear, a deeper dive. I think if you take a wide view, it could work. But I guess one of us has to do it then!
The audience (and contributors) is quite diverse -- you can please some of the people all the time, and all the people some of the time, ...

Content: Signal to Noise Ratio
Does it have value to others? One could contend "if it interests few, it is noise" yet that would make telemark the noise to general skiing, and skiing the noise to the general public. Some lump all "attention" together when in fact there is Positive Attention (e.g. nice trip report with photos, technical matters of varying depth, shared experiences and telemark camraderie) and Negative Attention (e.g. sparring with no constructive merit nor good faith, making a ruckus due to an inability or will to get attention via positive means). Do they try to bring out the best in people, or the worst?

Post History: Tendency or Situation
Anyone slapped in the face is likely to react combatively, but only by taking a broader view can one tell if combativeness is their nature or simply a non-representative situational response. Looking through one's post history a bit can indicate whether their preference is keeping it light (superficial) or going deep, the minimum it takes to get going to have fun or comprehensive to nail down the most possibilities.

Introvert, Extrovert
Some lurk, seldom post, or make short ones, others enjoy writing, interacting, and expounding. How much a person likes to Read and how much they like to Write are independent of each other.

Target of Disagreement: Topical or Personal
A skier has some old beat up skis. Some will say "Those skis look rough." Others "You slacker, you don't take care of your gear." Yet others "How long have you had them? Since new, hand me downs, thrift purchase to restore or make an Adirondack out of?"

Drawn to: Task or People
As you mention, some are drawn to read about "talk of the gear" while others are drawn to "bios on ... skiers." If you set up a room with disassembled skis, bindings, and boots on one table and beers and barstools at another, some will gravitate to the task of playing with stuff, others toward grabbing a drink to socialize with others. Some will hang back to get a feel of the situation before wading in, others will dive in head first. We can and have done each from time to time, but do have our tendencies.

And thus we have another example of the same few people stewing and spewing on and on, in the same manner the OP was respectfully addressing. Just sayin'.

Hypocrisy should be exposed. As should tired commonphrase sayings.

There’s always somebody who wants to be in charge… tell people what they can and can’t post.

Telemark skiing is a beautiful thing

Maybe we can align on that and let this be a good topic-closing post?
