Bindings are front throw, wire cage, kinda universal contraptions.

Not sure I would want to go up or downhill in them.

205, my length. E99, what's not to love. I have been looking for a pair of the green ones but didn't want to pay almost $100 for them, which is overpriced. They are first generation 99's with aluminum edges. They crust bust like nobody's business. I have some Frankenstein idea I want to do with them. Nice! Thanks guys!

Woods, are the alu edges any good? I passed on a 10-20$ pair last year cause the alu edges just didn't give me that nice wizzy feeling inside.

Because the alu is sticky to the snow? Or soft metal and bad for edges?

Those are not "beartrap" bindings, they are Silveretta 125 alpine touring bindings, same vintage as the skis. Back when these skis were introduced, circa 1977, there were no such things as stiff leather 75mm boots suitable for telemark turns, so these were THE bindings to use with Norwegian-welted leather mountaineering boots, double climbing boots, etc. Better than the alternative, which was low cut Alfa touring shoes with Troll bindings. Thesee are great for approaches to ice climbs...long glacier slogs, etc.
The cables can be adjusted for release by tightening or loosening the hook that holds the lever in place--there's a number scale on the lever. This is not any kind of DIN standard, it is a SWAG type of thing. Don't overtighten the cables as they can break when flexed if too snug.
I would never lock down your heels with the cables thru the side clips! Very dangerous.
Those skis were made with very stiff camber--it is the first E99 model, which superseded E77's. Aluminum edges are flush with the sidewalls and can only be sharpened using a stone on the bottom edges.

The first skinny ski descent of the Grand Teton was done on a pair of those, or a very similar ski. Bill Briggs, I believe it was; 1960's.
