NTN dimension drawings / spec
NTN dimension drawings / spec
Does anyone know where I could find the dimensional drawings / specification for NTN?
I'm having a bit of a play with some boots and bindings and would like to make something that accurately mates with NTN.
I've hunted through a lot of patents but they don't contain dimensions. Haven't managed to find a spec. anywhere else either, although I've seen some tantalising images that look to have come from the spec doc.

Which dimensions are you looking for, exactly? On the boot or on the binding? And which size (Large or Small)? Standard NTN "mini-duckbill" toe lug, or Dynafit-style tech toe?
Re: NTN dimension drawings / spec
Ideally it will include toe & heel profiles, thickness, distance between toe and "heel" etc.
I can easily measure the thicknesses, distance between etc. but getting an accurate profile for the bill and butt is a bit harder, also the detail of groove at the junction of toe and upper would be a "nice", but not essential at all.
There will be a standard drawing floating around somewhere, although it''s likely private IP under patent so might need licencing?
I've no idea how the smaller binding manufacturers deal with it - maybe it doesn't cost much to licence, or maybe they just reverse engineer it?
If worst comes to worst I'll reverse engineer/guess what I'm after and carry on, but some dimension drawings would certainly make life simpler.

There's some good info in this article:

And in this thread:

There are other threads on that forum that may be useful if you search around. It seems like that's where the telemark binding tinkerers hang out. Maybe repost your question over there. Also, if you PM me your email address, I can send you my 3D duckbutt model.
