New Asnes skis for the 2017-2018 season!

I like longer too but I have to admit my 200cm Nato Combats work really well for me, even in XC mode on the flats, LJ you're pretty light in weight 195 might be perfect. Will be so light and easy to flick into turns.

btw I have owned & skied Fischer's Sbound offerings and both the Ingstand and Breidablikk models so I do have some experience with how they behave. Asnes have that "2nd camber" that refuses to squash flat to the ground, probably makes the shorter models work better in XC mode. Asnes has not made a super-lightweight ski like this before however. Will be interesting to see how thick the edges are compared to the Nato combat heavier model, if the flex is the same, etc.

Asnes "backcountry" skis correspond to Fischer's E89-E109 offerings more than Sbound. The Sbound are heavier with more of a downhill flex pattern vs. nordic. But Fischer sends very few waxing skis to N. America. Actually we're not sure if Asnes is going to make it to Colorado this year or not.

btw, very cool of Asnes to support the T-talk website hosting! they are keeping it real for the XCD community, it's good to know someone is aware of us and trying to support this type of skiing.

XCDers are a dying breed. We need to support each other or else, the rich alpine touring baby boomers will take over the world! Seriously, we the consumers need to support manufacturers as well. We do have a responsibility. The development of our beloved passion depends on the consuming choices we make today...

Spending a few extra bucks in smaller brands we trust with decades of expertise is the best investment we can do for the future of telemark. Why most ski shops only carry Rossignol and Salomon? We have the power. Buying is voting...

Good news! Me and my assistant were finally able to open the suspicious package last night...!

Of course I'll write something about it in the next days, but what I can say now is that it's definitely NOT a "Me too" ski. Quite the opposite. I think this might be the model that other manufacturers will copy for their me-too skis in the future...

My 210cm Combat Natos do flatten out if I evenly weight them- but that resistance is still there in that second camber delivering a decent kick and release. However, there is fair little bit of variability between individual Asnes skis- or so I have been told by the Canadian dealer. Perhaps my Combat Natos have a slightly softer flex than yours?

Asnes describes these "camber-and-a-half" skis as being low profile "double span" with a "moderate" wax pocket; in contrast to skis like the Amundsen that has a "double span" with a "high" or "distinct" wax pocket.

Well- they ship them to Canadian dealers- the E99 Tour and the E109 Tour. Don't know why you cannot get them in the US...Wish Fischer would add the "Easy-skin" to the E99/E109 Crown- the E99 Crown is particularly limited without a kicker skin...
