I think he has improved on the Meidjo, essentially. If you have ever toured on the Meidjo, this is a considerable improvement switching back and forth from the tour mode. Also, it gives you a non-tech option if you don't want tech fittings but would still like a releasable binding on which that releasability can be adjusted.
