Want to sell some telemark and backcountry ski gear? Looking to buy or to trade? For years now this has been the best place on the web for telemark and backcountry skiers looking to buy or sell previously owned gear. Private party, used gear posts only, please.
Last year I took out my old 75s and blew out the screw holding onto the male strap on my Arkos lace-ups. Since then I seem to have misplaced it or my wife threw it out. I hate when that happens right?
I poked all around the internet looking for a strap, or even a workaround. After a frustrating afternoon I found your site. Pretty cool!
I am hoping someone has a spare. Perhaps on an orphaned boot? If not, perhaps knows where I can get one or even point me at a replacement with similar specs: screw hole, length/width and frequency of ridges I suppose?
Johnny, the straps don't exactly have the same shape as the metal clamp that holds it to the boot but at $3.25 per strap I could probably figure out a way to hack it up! Queued it up for purchase but unfortunately it seems there is a $20 minimum ;-( so will poke around. Will post pics of my success.
That's a very common looking strap; you shouldn't need an Arkos specific replacement... there's a very good chance that most any tele boot ratchet strap could work, as long as it's the same width. I wouldn't worry about the spacing of the teeth.
Any long established tele shop might well have something kicking around their old parts box. I think I have a few Scarpa straps in mine, let me know the width of the strap and I'll poke around; might have something for 'ya.
