120 Days Off – A Japanese Skibum’s Life in Japow

Hey everyone,
I’m a telemark skier and filmmaker based in Hokkaido, Japan.
I wanted to share a short documentary I made that follows the life of a ski bum here in Hokkaido.
It’s a glimpse into the telemark scene in Japan, the ski bum lifestyle, and, of course, the legendary Hokkaido powder.

That was beautiful. Hokkaido in winter got to be on the bucket list, especially after this utter shite winter.

Thanks! Glad you liked it! Yeah, those are Liberty Mutants—absolute powder machines. Have you ever tried them?

Thanks so much! Really glad you liked it. And yeah, Hokkaido is definitely a must-visit for any skier. The snow actually varies a lot depending on the region—southern Hokkaido gets less snow, but the best powder is in the north. Everything in this film was shot in northern Hokkaido!
