Transit Binding Plate Prototype

Having already mounted Xplore and 3-pin w/10mm riser on my Voile Objective, mounting a transit seemed a bridge too far. So, I made a binding plate from 3/8” birch plywood. If it works well I may try going beyond Lowe’s off-the-shelf plywood. I didn’t want to use 1/2” plywood so I built up the 3/8” from 3/16”.
Secured with 9 screws, using all the inserts from the Xplore and the 10mm riser.
I’ll smooth and round the edges before I take it out.

The Transit/F-1 should be a nice compliment to the Objective.
I am still getting used to how active the Transit is. On groomed I couldn’t believe how quick I was edge to edge. However, in heavy granular it took some feel. Not quite as natural as my T-4 and 3-pin Hardwire.
One of the things I had to feel was BoF on the ski with my left foot. With the activity, you could tippy toe Telemark. To me BoF on the ski, is more powerful.
You may have to break in that F-1, I have read it is stiffer than the F-1 Race. That knife cuts both ways, as I’ve also read that the F-1 Race gets too soft fast.
Good luck, I look forward to your reports. I do like mine, however I am still getting the feel and adjusting my technique.
