Your downhill experience with the Gamme 54 is very helpful and actually helps me with some of my deliberations in recent years regarding a downhill-focused BC-XC setup. For example- except in perfect conditions- I am not thrilled with my FT62, it is not stable enough- I keep thinking that what I would prefer is a short Ingstad/Nansen over the FT62 as a downhill-focused BC-XC setup. I hadn't been considering a "short" Gamme in this context until @jyw5 started posting about it- his experiences with the Cecile/Nansen vs. Ft62 echo mine.

@mikael.oh Asnes should send you a "short" Ingstad, Nansen and Sverdrup to compare against the Gamme in your context.

Question- are you using the standard black NNNBC flexor on the Gamme?

On the subject of those new scoocum boots- they look like a high-cut BCX5 to me...
Question- What is the sole-flex like? Stiff? Stable?

I would like to try a Nansen 205 cm. I don’t think it comes in a 210. I can turn my Gamme, but I can’t turn it very well in 3-D snow.
I would like a ski 70 mm underfoot, with a bit more “tension” under foot than the FT, so it would kick down a consolidated trail more pleasantly. Just a touch of front rocker, and the flex of my Tindan allowing for “tension”. Really the flex of the Tindan would be good as well, but I think the “tension” needs to be a little earlier in the flex.
For what it’s worth, the Tindan has that tension, and has the right flex. I think reducing the rocker significantly, stretching it out to 205, and some Norwegian magic to help it track tolerably.
The FT is awesome in it’s niche. The Tindan can handle it mankier, but is no fun on a hard uneven trail. Also by going longer, it could be more narrow under foot and still float. Now granted the end products are two different skis. One more efficient kicking, but still turning. The other more floaty, fine kicking in soft snow, but not great on packed trails (being nice)
I can surmise what that light weight Nordic XC and D ski should be like, but I haven’t ever been on it. I think Asnes needs to send their guys to NA, for a winter of below tree line skiing. I do believe they could come up with THE SKI.

Cool boots! Curious how stiff the boot flex is on the BCX Transnordic. The Grand Tours look appealing too, looks like they don't have the adjustable heel feature.

Those transnordics look good to me. I've been wishing I had a ski boot more like my 10" winter leather hunting/Hiking boot, and there it is.

Have you put your foot in an Alaska Alan? I started writing this and I remembered you had wide feet. I usually don’t have problems with boot fit, so I would guess my feet are average, and the Alaska fits great. Probably not the best for wide feet.
Hopefully the Fischer is a wider fit.

It's very, very, very interesting to note that there is not one single mention of anything XPlore in the 2022 Fischer catalog...

I wonder if Rottefella did not license it to them because Fischer is as much of a competitor as they are a customer? The companies they are working with seem to be exclusively customers, not competitors.
