The end of Voile's 3p binding - RIP
Re: The end of Voile's 3p binding - RIP
Well I know you have state and federal land in Idaho - to me backcountry is just skiing on public lands away from groomers and lifts. I generally consider skiing in the lands considered wilderness, wild forest, or state forest. Could be national too - but we don't have much in NY.
And really you just have to know where to ski. If snow is low, I ski on trails that are wide and don't have many rocks. They aren't groomed - and I can drive 20 minutes out of the city and be in farm land. It's simple.
And I know you are eager to say how much more you ski than me. I actually skied a lot last year compared to most average skiers. Guys I work with that go to resorts usually go less than 20 times a year. I'd skied that many days before February. I'd go in the morning before work, at night, on the weekend - whenever there was snow. When the snow is I'd go on deeper into the wilderness. I don't limit myself to looking for hills. I just ski. If a hill comes along, I go down it whatever way I can. That is my only motivation for learning telemark - it makes the down easier, especially when the snow is deep - it's really hard to survive with just a snowplow in that snow.
You have this dichotomy in your brain that you have to skate ski on groomed trails or ski at a resort most of the time. Fine. Have fun. But why would you ski XCD skis? XCD is the weird middle ground. It's off the groomers and away from the lifts, wherever you can find snow. I wish I would have realized this 20 years ago - I would have skied a lot more days and probably have learned how to really freeheel downhills by now. But I was stuck in the resort mode. XC skiing was something you did on groomed trails or it was miserable. But I've learned and like it. If you don't, fuck off - do what you want and quit being a dick.

Wait now..I read somewhere (else) that you have vast AT experience !Mikeinhoser wrote:Well I know you have state and federal land in Idaho - to me backcountry is just skiing on public lands away from groomers and lifts. I can get you up and running on Tele fast!
XCD works over a broad range of generally mellower terrain, groomed, not, hard, not..etc

Not so fast..We love Willy..Vast entertainment even if he really is an ugly old irrational, ungrammatical, syntactically incorrect troll..Mikeinhoser wrote:
You're as silly as Freeheelwilly. You say flopping about as much as he does. You seem to think the only relevance in skiing is going down hills. You spend most of your time locked up at a resort. You're not free. You don't get it. You never will. I'm done.
And FWIW I haven't skied at a resort in two years. It's been the best two years of skiing I've ever done.

He confuses algorithms and theorems! Wonderful!
The conflation of effective methods with things logically true!
A rare glimpse at a confounded mind!
It's telltale..You see there are only effective methods RE skiing..No theorems..Derivations ? yes..Theorems, no! Effective methods are , essentially, algorithms ..cook book instructions..Maybe you can explain that when you see old FHWillbur again !

Here goes Ron - waving his little penis all over again.
I never claimed to have AT experience - I stated quite the contrary but you'll read whatever it is you want to believe.
So... how long before we see pictures of... Chet? is it? and some new dedicated hate threads?
Johnny won't ban you - so have at it. Give me what you got.

OH yay - here comes the fun game. Accusing me of being some other sock puppet.
I've already been Climbhoser and now I'm Dongshow!
This is JUST LIKE WILLY. He does the same paranoid thing! Hahaha!
I assure you Ron, I have no puppets. It's just me. Good 'ole Mikey. And I'm really not trying to troll you - you seem to be trolling 'your own' forum here.
I actually like Johnny and kind of was having fun here before you tried to get my goat on that lead change thread. But that's OK - I've forgiven you for that one. But you aren't going to let it go.
And you'll post up some other troll swill hating on EYT and if anyone responds you'll battle them. Did you ever wonder why no one stays here?
I knew by me posting on there you'd blow your stack. I've apparently been un-banned for quite some time. And I actually just wanted to help that guy clarify a bit.

Ron - you can start calling me a 'chubby bag of douche' if you like. That will bring back some memories... or a 'boring tourist' - I love that one!
You know I'm just a lowly xc skier - I'm sorry I can't live up to your expectations - but I am who I am. Bring on the hate!

No matter how you beg, NO HATE!! Antithetical to skiing..
Hate baiter!

And you shouldn't drag poor Dongshow into this.
I've been meaning to ask him if this is his:

And Sir Ron, if you reject hate, you've got a lot of editing to do. I'm not going to point the finger... but it's coming through loud and clear on this end.
