I want to be able to use both boots on the same ski. Don't really want to have one ski and one boot combo. There are situations where I might want a softer boot on my s-bound 98s for example.

While I haven't used nnn-bc, I don't trust the durability and reliability. I've heard too many stories of failures on long expeditions.

If I was going to get a different binding, I would go with rotafella xplore and one of the lighter weight alfa boots.

Hm, that's odd. I can only moderately flex them with hands. And even wearing them in the house (I have yet to ski them) the sole flex seems a bit stiffer than I was expecting based on comments here.

Also, see my above post on the older Crispis, I edited it while you were responding.
I ended ordering a barely used pair of crispi antartics in my size. They have plenty of wiggle room in the toes but they are tight right behind the toes. It appears that the tight section is not connected to the toe cap so I should be good to stretch that out. I have access to professional boot stretching tools. Good heel fit. Definitely narrower in the forefoot than the Bre's. And much stiffer. It's a struggle to get the Antarctic to bend while the Bre bends with little effort. The Antarctic is about what you expect for a bcxc boot while the bre would almost be great for track skiing.

I wonder if you have an entirely different version of the Bre?

FWIW I always wanted an Antarctic. Telemark Down told me the Bre was just as stiff in conversation, and despite their advice has always been spot on, I give more credence to reports I have read on this forum.
I didn’t buy an Antarctic because I picked up an Alaska for less than $100 to my door several years ago during a summer sale before covid. So now I will probably never get an Antarctic. I’m happy with my Alaska and UK surplus Ski March.
Good luck with your Antarctic. It should fit your use ideally, as long as it fits comfortably.

That's surprising to hear. The Bre is probably ideal on some long skinnies for putting in a ton of miles on flatish terrain. The Antartics feel like I could make some stable turns on them with mid width skis but still be good for kick and glide. Very different boots. Now I have a pair of mid weight and heavy weight boots to choose from depending on the trip.
