Re: Just throwing this out there...
Not my cup of tea. The race where they compete on the same track is a bit cooler. Some BC race would be cool too. The Freeride World Tour and the tele comps showcase some outstanding talent, but to me, it's akin to watching golf on TV. I like the clips, but no chance I'd sit around and actually watc...

Re: Hard wires or NTN? And what ski?
I'll echo the point that if you're going with Vice's, don't. Get Axls. Might as well have the touring option. I'd also look at Voile Switchback X2 or original Switchback if you like a more neutral feel. Voile is in Utah, its factory is there, and they make very simple and durable stuff. The NTN opti...

Re: Voile cartridge stiffness
All the cartridges are interchangeable. The difference in the shape of the black cartridge set up results from the fact that Voile moved the pivot rearward to make the X2's more active, so the distance between the cartridges and throw was shortened (as show in the pictures. I think the widths are th...

I agree with Fisheater. No problems with Voile skis and their Aspen cores.

Before my time, but I believe those are the Rottefella 412 telemark bindings. Someone may know WTF 412 stands for.

Re: Newby technique question
You're going to get different answers from different skiers. Alpine turns are a great tool in the toolbox and in icy/crappy, tight situations, yeah, many people will use them. If the snow is good, many people will continue to tele and others will use alpine. It's your comfort zone and skill level.

Re: 3-pin limit
The T2X's were around in between that vintage of T2 and the T2eco. Yes, forgot about that. Getting old, I guess. More then this: with the soft cables from Voile I found out that the binding acts very close to a free pivot binding with the advantage of weight on my side. Not having those 3 pins, the...

Re: 3-pin limit
What about this model of Scarpa T2? Does it worth considering? I have an offer on some local site. I mean: are they much stiffer then the T4's? I believe that is the last version of the T2 before the puke green T2 Ecos came out. It's a comfortable, easy to flex boot. It's probably not much stiffer ...

Re: 3-pin limit
I've mounted the chili's on some skis and barely had time for a little kick and glide last evening in the moon shine. They are stiffer and it occurred to me that telemark can only be learned using the cables . Am I right? Without the tension provided by them it is harder to feel the move. And anoth...

Re: The FEEEL between rod/cartridge and compression springs.
I meant in comprehension of the difference between an active vs neutral binding, but your explanation hits the mark for what I'm grasping at. Thanks! D'oh. Yes, you're on the right track. Activity and how it works has been debated to death, so I'll just say that, to me, the sensation is greater res...
