Re: How small is too small? Shell fit on Excursions.

IMO the best thing about Excursions is the all day long comfort and warmth they provide when they fit right. Any compromise in comfort runs counter to the primary function of these boots for me.

Re: Unexpected Opportunity to Head East

Porkies may be your best bet. Plenty of snow but it's crusty and unstable. There's some ideas for a big snow event next week but we shall see. Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Ha! I looked at your photos and thought to myself 'that looks an awful lot like the UP.' Nice shots and what a pike! The rain and warmth in the forecast is not looking good but as you pointed out, it can still turn back to winter (most likely will) and slam us with a couple feet of snow yet.

Re: DIY Fischer easy-skin attachment (pictures)

Nice looking work and a great idea! When you say "draw up copy of fischers plastic skin mount", what do you mean? 3-D printer or something? Excuse my ignorance of such things. Your work looks professional.

Re: Bindings: NNN BC vs 3 Pin for good turns?

"C" feel more lateral support....Don't like the possibility of icing the nnn system at times when I hit water....Guess I'm comfortable with RST having skied them for decades....When a part time...er....tiny investor in the Craftsbury Outdoor Center used the nnn system and frankly didn't like the fe...

Re: Bindings: NNN BC vs 3 Pin for good turns?

Connie have tried over the years many different bindings but the one that did all I wanted, was the Rotta Super Telemark. Cruise, up, down....Not interested in any kind of plastic boot....Telepole found a Asolo Snowfield 2 in a box in an Antique store....Never worn!!!!! They blew out instantly and ...

I am trying to decide what ski to get next year (because I have a problem)
@bwm8142
What's the problem you're trying to solve by getting new skis? Technical problem with the old skis? Manifest destiny of the ski quiver?
I've seen this before. A classic case of G.A.S.

Re: How important is ski weight to xcd skiing?

I get more tired from things like poor kick or glide or squirrelly skis that don't track straight than from ski weight.
