Re: Åsnes Borge Ousland BC Ski Review

I noticed today that the motivational phrase under the ski backfires when you use a short skin. Clearly Ousland prefers wax.

Re: Help needed for ski choice for solo pulka trip West-Greenland

- Asnes Nansen in 200 cm (recommended for 80-95 kg) - Amundsen in 201 cm (recommended for 80-95 kg) - Combat NATO Jeger (https://www.asnes.com/produkt/combat-nato/) in 200 cm For the Greenland trip the Amundsen is probably the best. If you want something more forgiving with carrying a backpack on f...

Re: First look of Lundhags Abisku Expedition Xplore boots

@Jurassien shops dont yet seem to have new boot stock available. No sign of new Crispi boots either. Just the Alfas and Alpina Alaska xplore, sometimes a madshus.
I think they will come later. Whenever that is.
I kan keep you in the loop when i see somethingbut i don't go to the shops weekly.

Re: Skis with mis-matched Camber - Keep or Return?

I don't think 1.5 mm camber height makes a difference in itself. but if you flatten the bases together, is one ski bending backwards? Meaning do they have the same stiffness? I'm not a perfectionist by any means but I think my mind would blame any an all skiing difficulties on that probably irreleva...

Re: First look of Lundhags Abisku Expedition Xplore boots

But I found it is way easier to fit the foot in through the ankle area on the lighter version. This is interesting. I tried a pair of the "low" abisku xplore size 45 (one size too small) and I found it impossible to get the toes into the toe box. My ankle circumference around the heel (if that make...

Re: Asnes Ingstad BC Sizing (second try)

+1 for Combat NATO for this use. It certainly will be heavier than the Traverse 78 though. Is the Combat NATO heavier than the Fischer 78? Fischer Traverse 78: 1070 g pr ski size 198 (source https://www.utemagasinet.no/fjellski#test-av-fischer-traverse-78-crown-skin) Åsnes Combat Nato: 1200g pr ski...

Re: Ski Recommendations

Hi, Turning any ski with NNNBC requires some finesse and technique and this isn't a full success on first try typically. The level of downhill control offered by AT gear is due to stiff boots and binding interface which results in good force transmission from skier to ski and this cannot be matched ...

Re: Telemark Technique

My opinion one great turn in the bush is equivalent to a day at a ski area. TM That's reasonable, once you have the skills. In the early stages, the kind of repetition you can get lift served, can make it easier to develop them. Even a day or 2 dedicated to developing the "turn" can help quite a bi...

Re: Telemark Technique

Lack of gear progression? Who needs it? There is already enough gear available that is suited for everything from the golf course to extreme terrain, and it all works. Besides that, Voile just came out with a new binding. How much innovation has there been in alpine bindings lately? Agree mostly, t...
