Re: First look of Lundhags Abisku Expedition Xplore boots

All I've got is fjellsport.no I'm afraid. Lundhags distribution is so weirdly bad.

Aprops Guides, though:

Re: Help needed for ski choice for solo pulka trip West-Greenland

Hi Ernst, great adventure you have planned. Good luck and have fun. I’m not sure a mile crushing stiff XC camber ski will be the most efficient pulling that heavy sled. I think you may be better served with a more versatile ski like the Nansen. Have you calculated how fast you need to move to achie...

Re: Help needed for ski choice for solo pulka trip West-Greenland

Maybe I should rephrase my questions more specifically. Am I right in assuming that in the conditions described above (no fresh snow expected, thin & icy snowcover crumbled by snowmobiles) a wider, shorter ski would give a beginner more "easy" stability (at the expense of speed & efficiency)? Ernst...

Re: Asnes Mountain Race 48 SKIN

Musk Ox your wife is on them @190 cm and handles them well, do you think my lady could handle 190s if she's 5 foot 2 and 140 lbs? You're married to an elf! And I respect that. OK, I'm on record as saying that the sizing charts on these are a wee bit conservative, but even so I'm on the spot here! A...

Re: Asnes Mountain Race 48 SKIN

Faced with the same challenge, a novice skier will often be frustrated. Honestly, having skied these and lent them to family and friends, I have to say the Skin ones are super forgiving of imperfect technique. They grip like nobody's business going up hills if it’s solid enough, and you can quickly...

Re: Asnes Mountain Race 48 SKIN

Might not be ideal for a novice skier. One or two bad sessions struggling with kick and she might bail on the sport. Before mounting, those MRs will be easier to sell… even though you haven’t had any early bites. Your asking price is good in my view. Maybe a lack of skiable snow in most parts is th...

Re: Asnes Quiver addition advice sought

It's very interesting to see such different opinions about the same skis. The Mountain Race 48 is really great on loose snow on top of a consolidated base. That's where it really shines. I think the official weight charts are slightly conservative, and if you're on the cusp of two lengths, go for th...

Re: Asnes Rabb 68 over the Voile Objective BC w/Xplore

Just to contradict @tkarhu here (with apologies!), the Swix Blue (V30) is a bit too hard for 0°C/ 32°F – you won't get any grip until you're a good few degrees below freezing. On older snow, Swix Blue is only useful when it's -5° or something. Swix Blue Extra (V40) is a bit more versatile, but agai...

Re: Asnes Mountain Race 48 Query

Oh man, you've got an easier choice. Definitely 210 the right choice for you- Meanwhile I am stressing out with my mere 182cm and 70kg, but use 10-15kg backpack most of the time, and the rest without a pack or 15-20kg backpack But I also got the 210s. Åsnes accidentally sent me the skin versions fi...

Re: Asnes Rabb 68 over the Voile Objective BC w/Xplore

The Rabb 68 has a wax pocket. What am I suppose to do interms of that? Can anyone provide a youtube link and that explains the maintance, prep and wax options to keep that working for me? To get started with waxing, you should have a tin of blue wax, a cork, and half length, 30-45 mm wide mohair sk...
