Re: Kids waxless BC tele ski options

Sorry, no specific ski recommendation, but here’s the video of what I did for my son when he was 7:

Tele-dactyl/saurus boots and Rossi jr cable bindings.

Worked ok, but I’d pack the divets a little tighter than shown if I did it again.

Is there anybody who have an opinion about the waxless base (scales under foot) on the groomed piste in the resort ? Sometimes you need to ski on the groome...

Anyone know a source of Scott Excursions?

Hello Telemark Talk Massive,

Anyone come across or know of a retail source for the Scott Excursion? I'm looking for a size 29.5.

Thanks!

Re: The new Rottefella XPLORE OFFTRACK Binding system

Here is a video of the system. https://www.fftv.no/rottefella-xplore https://www.fftv.no/v.ihtml/player.html?source=share&photo%5fid=66905519 Not to be crass, but... Hopefully, the "interchangeable flex" flexor doesn't remove as easily as in the video, where it seems like it could just fall out. So...

Re: Voile Vector BC Binding Choice

Like Al's suggestion of the Riva's, the hardwires on a loose setting allow for some minimal initial resistance which is good for shuffle touring. I've found the side throw voile spring cable resists too much from the get go. At the risk of being ridiculous, I'll quote myself here: Easy in and out, d...

Re: NNN BC - ski width

You have to distinguish between what belongs to marketing and what is anchored in facts... Right now, I figure if I'm using my new Rossi BC 110 as a ski for the fluffy stuff it won't be much harder to turn safely than my Salomon ADV89 on harder snow. If I'm wrong, I'll do something completely diffe...

Re: Complete skiing. Near perfect continuity between flats, uphills and downhills.

Adjustable poles are great. I will usually adjust them a few times on any tour, or even at a resort. Shorter for aggressive turning, longer for striding or touring. One of my sets of adjustable poles also has a secondary grip about three inches below the primary grip that I use for short sections, ...

I liked them so much, I put together a quick video to augment my review of the skis on Backcountry.

Great skiing!

I especially like the turning in the chopped up and bumpy snow in the very first segment.
