That is my guess too... I'm afraid they will be freaking light... Therefore, freaking tempting...

Re: 2024 Alpina Pioneer TECH XP Backcountry/Telemark ski boot review XPLORE
OH MY DEAR LORD Please, please please any information on these whenever possible! Give me a few days... I need to be objective, not just woooh's and woaaaaah's... 8-) There is lots of fluff but not much clarity. I wish they would rank their boots for comparative stiffness/beefiness. they do mention...

2024 Alpina Pioneer TECH XP Backcountry/Telemark ski boot review XPLORE
A few months ago, I got the word from Alpina that the Grandmaster boot designers in Slovenia were working on a brand new XP boot model and they wanted me to give it a try. The boot would be called the Pioneer TECH. Wow! Even though the word "tech" is quite a common buzzword that has been utterly ove...

Re: Alpina Pioneer 80 XPlore Ski Review
Same. Also waiting on the Alpina Pioneer 80 ski. Probably the saddest news of the season. Using the words of Alpina, " Pioneer skis did not come to fruition unfortunately. " Timing? Marketing? Supply chain? I don't have any other info. I say sad, because after 3 seasons skiing the Pioneer 80's, it'...

Re: Alpina Pioneer PI Pro Vital XP Discoverer XPLORE boots Review 2022
Johnny I have noticed in another thread that you sold your Alpina Pioneer Pro in 42 size. What was the reason? Do you own another pair or you are just satisfied with Alaska XP? Both reasons. Really. 8-) Wonder what the issues have been with them getting delayed. Sport Conrad finally stocked the Pio...

Re: NNN-BC Red Flexors
Johnny Do XCD knights no longer accept flexors to the list of accepted kit? ;) Maybe you could see flexors as part of a balance between forces… Think of yin and yang. Good technique, skis and fitting boots are the yin, and the softness of yin is also what I aim at, when skiing. On the other hand, b...

Re: How many poles?
Wow. What do you like about poles? I know they have different stiffness etc, but what else is there besides that? Yep different materials... Each of them with different uses, colors, sizes, rebound, style, diameter, weight, sound, basket sizes and styles etc... Each pole has a different usage... Bl...

Re: NNN-BC Red Flexors
You are right. Good skiing technique, (and good technique only) keeps your BOF against the ski. Nothing else.
Flexors, cables, springs and all that stuff are superfluous.
