Re: Madshus Loke And/Or Odin
Never heard of either ski, but if you can perform so should they. The Loke looks like a piste ski. What ski are you currently using.

Re: Favorite ski mountains in each area
Feeling antsy? Ready for snow? It's the only way I can survive Houston summers. Going to an ice skating rink helps, too!!! Good thing is that the same skill needed to carve skates can be transferred to carving skis and visa versa. I went to a skate rink a couple years ago and thought my rental skat...

Re: Favorite ski mountains in each area
That's an easy one. In Alaska it's the Chugach, Kenai, and Talkeetna mountains. Back East it's the Pocono Mts, not much snow but it's where I can go right out my door. For road trips back there it would be the Whites, Greens, and the High Peaks of the Adirondacks.

Hi Stephen, welcome to the forum. I wouldn't let 5 cm stop you from getting the adjustable poles. I think that since you will be on slightly heavier boots and skis and you being a lot older and hoping for a lot of powder will be fine with slightly shorter poles.

Re: Wooden skis from the skies
That does look like Nordic rocker for sure and it would be neat if they were made like that, but it could have developed from use. I had a pair of Karhu XCD-GTs from the mid eighties that developed it. I took them to the shop in the late nineties and when the tech squeezed the bases together the tip...

Never say never Kid, I felt the same way until I got some thermomouldable T4s. If I want to go fast and far I have xc skis for that, and they turn too.

Re: The Finest Leathers: Nordic Norm 75mm Backcountry/Telemark Boots
Thanks for that explanation TM. I agree that the stiff camber can create more energy coming out of a turn. This is a good thing because extreme unweighting leads to extreme weighting and that is what you need to get dbl camber skis to turn. That being said I have had skinny alpine skis that gave a s...
