Re: The ever-so-popular Madshus Eon

Luc Mehl has been using the AT toepiece setup far longer than I and explains the pros/cons pretty well. http://thingstolucat.com/ski-touring-equipment-guide/ The only thing I do different is to take a hole saw to either side of the boots where the bellows on a plastic tele boot would be. I also lea...

Re: Asnes Nansen Review

I can try and shoot a video with the help of the lady friend sometime reverse flexing the ski but could you describe the procedure? The other night I was holding the tail still with my foot, ski vertical, one hand on the tip and the other hand pulling the binding toward me with the snow side facing...

Re: Fischer steel light wax ski 47-44-46

I stand corrected!

The downhills in those first two videos remind me of triathletes on bikes - obviously very strong on the uphill but give them anything twisty on the down and watch the carnage. When I raced road bikes we called them "try-athletes".

Re: Fischer steel light wax ski 47-44-46

I kind of question how much mountaineering you can do in those boots, especially since they don't fit crampons and have next to no insulation!

Really curious how these superlight 65mm waist skis do on real conditions as well. Those videos seemed to show them skiing down green to blue groomers.

Re: Fischer steel light wax ski 47-44-46

The lightest possible skimo setup you can get(skis/boots/bindings) is about 5.5 lbs. FWIW I've been putting together an AT setup this winter: Dynastar Cham 80 skis (114/80/102) - ~1300 grams Brand new on craigslist for $225 2014/15 Vipec Bindings - 470 grams Got these on closeout - 60% off for $275...

Re: Asnes Nansen Review

Oh - I didn't mean to insinuate that you are beginner, but just that I like the way he outlines basic/intermediate/advanced. Advanced is where most people have to work a bit harder with XCD. Oh no problem - I shouldn't have taken it that way. I'll probably wait to work on that stuff until the next ...

Re: Asnes Nansen Review

Definitely looks like Nordic Rocker. HBS - just something to add to what I said. http://ski.itrundle.com/techniques/xcd1.html Not a lot instructional info here, but I like the way this guy groups techniques into basic to advanced XCD. It's a good progression because the way he orders it everything ...

Re: Asnes Nansen Review

I had to pack the skis up tonight to leave early tomorrow and figured you might appreciate a quick video:

The girlfriend gets home tomorrow night and maybe we can shoot one of another flex test since I only have one hand free haha.
