How much does your xcd rig weigh?
Xc skis 6.25 lbs XCD-GTs, merril boots, 3-pin 12 lbs Vector, T2s, 3 pin hw 15.1 lbs Pow boards,4 buckle boot, SB X2s 20.25 lbs I got curious about this and was surprised that the XCDs were twice as heavy as my xc skis. I was also surprised that the vectors weren't much heavier than the XCDs. The thi...

Re: Old S Bound series
I had an sbound outbound crown from about 15 years ago. It was the ski that turned me off to the fischer xcd line. They had a negative pattern in the base and they didn't climb at all and had a poor kick in the best conditions. The double camber was so stiff it was hard to get enough weight on the s...

Re: Gear Basket
I also saw 2 pairs of T2 ecos new in the box for $75 each. Mens sz 24.5 and womens 25.5. They are at Alaska Mountaineering and Hiking, the leading nordic ski shop in town, they no longer carry telemark gear. Thay had fischer S112s and S125s that they are probably pairing with At boots and bindings.

Re: Gear Basket
I saw a pair of Merrill lace up boots at an Anchorage Play it again Sports today. They seemed to be in good shape, the sole was still stiff so I don't think they have too many miles on them, but I didn't check the pin holes. The size was barely visible but it looked like 10.5 and felt that way too. ...

Re: Update from the XCD Knights
Mike, I'm glad you see it our way . Steve Barnett did popularize xcd skiing but for the most part those early adapters of tele were alpine skiers looking for better ways to get to the goods, with a little bit of curiousity about an obsure Nordic turn. I don't think they were too concerned about...

Re: Update from the XCD Knights
Mike we are invested in you because of the great enthusiasum you show by way of your posting. I don't think I would be as outspoken about what or how you ski if I didn't have a very similar attitude as you for my first 20 years skiing. I'm not trying to convert you to plastic exclusively, I just thi...

Re: Update from the XCD Knights
Mike, if you are comparing people who tour in plastic "Nordic" boots to AT skiers and splitboarders it not only shows your inexperience but it pisses people off. If you think all you can do is shuffle in big boots or that you can xc ski efficiently in AT gear my guess is you never tried it. Why wou...

It sounds like you can't go wrong Pat. IMO a good ski is a good ski regardless of how it is mounted.
