Re: Future Quiver

Mike don't take off those 02s off and swap for 3pc.

Why would you get the koms over the vectors?

Re: Vector BC eludes my thinking

I think the speed of a ski has a lot to do with surface area. A lot of times a fat ski will be faster either in powder or hardpack.

Re: Vector BC eludes my thinking

It's a great ski for steep terrain but I think you can use them anytime the snow isn't good, especially if your doing low angle trees.

Re: Vector BC eludes my thinking

I have the vector and the bc vector and the bc aren't that much slower than the kick wax ski. I never would have thought I would use the BCs for anything but spring corn but they work so well in all conditions it's been my go to ski. I skied the same trails yesterday and today and the vectors w xtra...

Re: How much does your xcd rig weigh?

12 lbs has been my lightest set up for 30 years. If I want to go lighter I would use a xc ski skis. Back in the day not everyone used metal edged skis in the bc in the daks. I remember people on tele weight leather boots on bc oriented xc skis. The popular ski was a yellow Epoke of which I have a pa...

Re: My Ski History by anemic

I think the HW would be a good match for that ski unless you plan to do a lot of skinning. That ski may work well with plastic or leather boots and the HW gives the option of removing the heel throws for touring. My skinny skis may have saved my life last season. After a strong wind event I took the...

Re: How much does your xcd rig weigh?

Mike I weighed them without the heel throws because I remove them for the tour, sorry to mislead you. Conny I have SBs on my waxable vectors but wish they were HWs too so I could remove the heel throws for touring. I never tried any of the modern xcd boots as I never found a pair I could get my feet...

Re: 7B Goat BC

Cliffy, my vectors are 170s, the shortest ski I own. Before I bought them I took a pair of my wife's ski out that were 168s to get an idea how the length would work. I had a great day doing laps in good deep powder and float wasn't an issue at all. I really enjoyed the lightness of the smaller ski a...

Re: 7B Goat BC

The Goats are nice looking skis but if they don't have rocker count me out. Plus they are spendy and too much side cut for me.

I never skied any of voiles rockered skis other than the vector but there have been some days skiing variable crust that I wish I had Chargers.

Re: How much does your xcd rig weigh?

Wow that stuff is pretty light Mike. Those Sbound 98s and boots only weigh 10 lbs? Why not use the heaviest boots with the 98s, because of the 3pins?
