Re: Binding Mounting Position

3.6 mm = .1417”, 9/64 converts to .1406”. I would call that an insignificant difference. On my FT Balance point and chord center were in the same place and the same for both skis. I mounted pins on balance point and am very satisfied. On my Gamme (210)) there was a difference IIRC of 7 mm between s...

Re: Line Sakana set up for tele?

I wonder if the swallow tail let's you mount more forward to help with turn initiation, but allows the tail to sink.

Re: FTP Gloves and Mittens

I also just picked up a pair of FTP gloves--last season's RX Pro glove. Fit and quality seems very good, and as usual a removable liner is the best way to go. It was $20 US cheaper than the current version, btw. I just need the snow and cold weather, which is sorely lacking in Colorado right now. I...

Re: Ski Length Dilemma

I'm about 79kg (174 pounds) and 178cm (5' 8"). This puts me about 5kg and 2 cm into the 190 cm bracket for a pair of Gammes, per Åsnes sizing charts. Any good reason why I shouldn't just get the 200s? The 200 cm Gammes are recommended for skiers up to 95 kilos, which is a lot heavier than me. I'll ...

Re: Will NNNBC handle this?

Agree with dumping the 80. You may know this, but possibly not since you're new to the nordic side of freehell: the waist is not 80, the shovel is 80. The waist is 60mm. If you're going used, look for some Madshus Annums or Epochs. They are softer cambered and are wider and will turn a bit easier. G...

Re: Excursion 88 Sizing and Bindings.

You are on the right track. The ski is a tried and true piece of kit and the Fischer Offtrack Crown (the scales) is excellent at grip. Very grippy, wonderful design. If you get the EZ Skin option you can even add mohair skin which works very well for steeper climbs. This is a classic BC ski that has...
