Re: Help: Metal edge repair failed!

I think you're best off finding a new pair from the Time+Money stand point. You'd have to basically re-manufacture the ski to get the edge to hold, and now that the wood is exposed, it can absorb moisture and swell. If, IF, you can get new edge, you'd have to pull all and re-apply and bond to the sk...

Re: crampon vs skins

Crampons vs skins are not an either/or question. ATers know ski crampons are a thing. While not common to tele', it's no big leap and I can see them on crusty stuff where skins won't work. It's a tool, and many a screwdriver sufficed as a pry bar. Here's both skis and crampons. https://ar...

Re: crampon vs skins

Pick the right tool for the job. This can mean skis, skins, snowshoes, (micro)spikes, crampons, boots. Some take X route up (direct, or Y face) the ski down Z. Sometimes you need floatation, other times "grip." The other flex is knowing how to adapt your tool, like doing switchbacks and hi-step turn...

Re: Weak ankles due to minor accidents

Hello, I am in pain and my ankle is currently quite weak compared to before the accident and still want to find shoes that are suitable for my current condition. Does anyone have any sample suggestions? Thank. After a severe twist a few years ago my Doc suggested barefooting and minimalist shoes. M...

Off the Bakerville, Loveland Trail. -The BLT. Fair warning.

Re: Wax exchange?

Can small pieces of kick wax go in a regular envelope with stamp or will the weight be too much for regular postage? It needs to be "machine-able" and not rigid, not more than 1/4" thick, of regular envelope dimensions (not square, see USPS), and not contain anything prohibited. For kick wax, you'd...
