There is another possibility, Madshus makes skins which only have fur in the middle part of the ski and there is some glide zone in front. https://varuste.net/en/p38014/madshus-intelligrip-skins-40mm?change_country=NO&change_currency=EUR&gclid=CjwKCAiAz4b_BRBbEiwA5XlVVr4VRDqZAUKnxnZKK7cjn4HmCIEkI_K...

Re: Karhu xcd gt full metal edge xc skis 62 54 59
I wanted to write a review of this ski, but noticed there is this thread already. So I put this here for clarity. I bought these skis second-hand from a local store around 2012. Back then, they still looked unused, but old for visual style (still nice visuals!). Does anybody know, from which era ski...

Re: What length BC55, E99 or similar?
The Glitt I am familiar with is not soft-cambered...I wonder what the current BC55 is like? When the Glittertind name was changed to BC in 2013, longitudal stiffness also changed quite a bit. So older than 2012 Glittertind and BC 55 are different skis IMU. By the way,I am thinking of buying a pair ...

Re: LilCliffy's Nordic Backcountry Touring Waxing
@tkarhu Very interesting ideas in regards to base klister. Perhaps you might give it a try and report back? Now I tried that out. The liquid base klister makes a really thin layer. Overall it became 10-20 % klister in the bottom, and 80-90 % wax on top. I did just a short 10-15 km run, so I do not ...

Re: Åsnes Predator
Someone is selling a 205 cm pair in Sweden "Åsnes Predator 205cm. Asymmetrical racing ski from the 90s.[…](NOTE these are not touring skis but seriously challenging piste skis)" Is this a great opportunity for a collector? ;) Seems that those are not for BC skiing really. https://www.blocket.se/anno...

Re: LilCliffy's Nordic Backcountry Touring Waxing
Well, klister in glide areas might have some practical issues in abrasive snow with full ski polar wax, when the polar wax wears out, glide might not be perfect.

Re: LilCliffy's Nordic Backcountry Touring Waxing
Haha :D Yes I do have some liquid base klister now, which I will use for base wax in a pair of track skis. I will report back, how it works. Yet that might take some time because snow has turned to ice fields lately. A base klister hopefully does not need to be removed at any point, except summer st...

Re: LilCliffy's Nordic Backcountry Touring Waxing
Thanks for great information in this and other threads, @lilcliffy and others! FYI, below is some information from Finnish language XC sites. As background, I have studied waxing tips from Finnish XC forums and blogs lately. Further, I read this forum because I look forward to replacing my Karhu XCD...

Re: Mountain Equipment ‘Mission’ softshell jacket *PRICE DROP*
FYI This is a great jacket. I have two, in sizes L and XL. L is good with 180 cm and 80-90 kg, and XL too. In XL size, I could layer a light down jacket under the Mission jacket. A helmet fits better with XL, too. I thought maybe I could even layer one Mission jacket under down jacket and another on...
