The moisture in the skins from the warm, wet snow may be freezing in the cold snow in the shade and causing drag.

It’s hard to comment on these sorts of things without actually seeing what’s going on and commenters are going to pick up on different things. The thing that comes to mind for me is the image of standing sideways over the balance point of a teeter totter, with someone raising and lowering the plank...

Sticky snow problems are mostly fixable with UHMW tape and the Powder Casing.

The process is called “Blocking.”
All sorts of How-Tos on the Internet or YouTube videos.
Basic steps are to: wet the garment, lay it out to the shape you want, and let it dry — but, look it up for full details.
Then you will have my full admiration!
