Re: Vermont 1/18-1/21
Oh lord those conditions look horrible!!😉 But hey I guess it's better than the mud trails we have here in the catskills! 🤣 I kid of course, looks beautiful! Can't wait! Might not be deep enough to cover every single obstacle, but I think I should manage just fine! I decided to go to bolton on Tuesda...

Im trying to decide if bolton is worth it for Tuesday or if I should save the reservation for next month sometime. can't find much information on their backcountry conditions/whether its navigable after their snow...

Re: Voile Objectives sold dirt cheap
Definitely a scam, I would avoid at all cost.
Always verify websites with deals thst are way too good to be true.

Re: Vermont 1/18-1/21
Thanks for the recs everyone! Im being as responsible as possible and following the state guidelines as much as reasonably possible. I also live alone and am traveling alone, as well as traveling with my own food to avoid having to go shopping or eat out. Should only have to go out to ski and get ga...

Vermont 1/18-1/21
Im heading up to vermont to stay in a little airbnb in Randolph. Not the most convenient location, but good price and looks cozy. Have an epic pass (really regretting it this season, not supporting vail in the future) but that means 5 days I can use at stowe, never been there. And I also have an Ind...

Re: New skis are amazingly fun after day 1! New boots.... not so much. T1 too stiff for me?
I'll give them a shot with hammerheads on pin 2 or 3. Its definitely too stiff in the forward flex, the side to side edge control is fine, as it is with my old T2s.. I actually ski my T2 boots in walk mode, always have, and so that was my default going into the T1s and still found them aggressively ...

New skis are amazingly fun after day 1! New boots.... not so much. T1 too stiff for me?
Hey yall After resisting for a few weeks due to early season conditions --rocks-- i finally tried out my head kore 99 skis. So so so fun! I've always skied shorter skis with my previous daily driver being 176 cm k2 sidestash. These are much longer at 189, I was worried about them being unwieldy. But...

Re: Got a hernia at work... anyone have any experience skiing with one?
Well I got a consultation with a surgeon, he made the recovery seem like no big deal, said I can do basically whatever I want as soon as I feel up to it. Just no heavy lifting for 4 weeks. He was iffy on downhill skiing because he said it seems strenuous (fair). I didnt clarify XC, but he said runni...

Re: What do you carry in day packs? Backcountry XCd
Oh I forgot about this thread! The PLB beacon is great peace of mind. Seeing as how I tell friends where I'm going and no where too far out of rescues reach, I just wanted something to alert the Authorities when I was our of cell phone range. I didn't personally think the subscription for the Sat ph...

Got a hernia at work... anyone have any experience skiing with one?
So about 3 weeks ago I was doing a lot of lifting at work when I felt a pull in my groin, it was actually lower than where the hernia actually is. For a few weeks I had on off aches like I pulled a muscle and kept aggravating it. Well on Wednesday it was particularly achey all day. And when I got ho...
