Re: Sbound 98s or 112s

Resurrecting old post. I have the Sbound 98 with Xplore bindings and Fischer Traverse boots. I really like the ski but when I try doing turns on softer deep snow they submarine and I get the faceplant feeling. Would the 112 offer much more float and can my binding combo/boots handle that width? I’m ...

Re: 3 Pin vs. Rotte Xplore

I got some great turns on my Fischer 98s with Xplore system. It’s a completely different feeling to me. The system rewards driving and pressuring the front foot while pressuring the uphill ski. Pressuring the uphill ski I found that I have to apply more pressure to my toes than the ball of my foot. ...

Re: Excursion Boot Modifications ?

Just back from an overnight hut trip with ultra vector x2 excision combo. Dreamy on the way up. 1500’ over three miles. Then hit a 500’ 25 degree slope on wind blown, hard pack, faceted, and breakable crust. Combo skied really well. No issues and so comfy. I am experienced and ski meidjo and evos o...

Re: Long trips, deep snow, but very low angle

I’d get something that you can ski one of the Volcanos in the spring when the snow is all consolidated and “safer”. But that is just me. Voile Endeavor would be a great ski for that.

Re: Excursion Boot Modifications ?

I have a set of Hyper Vector BCs with the X2 bindings. Great combo! For low angle tours, the T4s have just enough power for turns on soft snow. For anything over 25 degrees and long run outs with variable snow conditions I would reach for my T2 Ecos. The T2 ecos brand new feel pretty dang stiff if y...

Re: Hardwire Spring Lube

I don’t really hear my transits when skiing. Only when carpet flexing at my house.

Re: leg strength exercises

I would say this biggest difference is doing isolated leg and glute exercises involving bands. Vlad has some excellent exercise videos that focus on balance and strength. I wouldn’t focus on strictly ski exercise videos, I came across his videos and made a big difference on identifying my weaknesses...

Re: 2025 Tx Pro

I’m excited to get my new Tx Pros on snow! I’m pairing with the Transit and just switched to the soft springs to give them a try. Mainly will be using the setup in backcountry. So far I really like the boots. Better heel hold, love the ski walk mech and the range of motion. The flex feels smooth to ...

Re: Scarpa F1 with Transit Questions

For what’s it’s worth I have the F3 which are a little heavier then the f1s. The flex on the sole of the boot and bellows is not as smooth as a tele boot. It’s stiffer and not as natural. The boot skied fine with my transits and Ultravectors but it wasn’t anything to rave about. They were just light...
