Neopatrimonial Factionalism

This is the place to debate politics, global warming, and yes, even the origin of man, whatever. Simply put, if you want to argue about off topic stuff, you've found the right board. Have fun!

Neopatrimonial Factionalism

Post by twopass » Thu Dec 19, 2019 2:11 am

Faction: A number of citizens, whether amounting to a minority or majority of the whole, who are united and actuated by some common impulse of passion, or of interest, adverse to the rights of other citizens, or to the permanent and aggregate interests of the community

—James Madison

The executive of the modern state is but a committee for managing the common affairs of the whole bourgeoisie

—Karl Marx

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

—Pete Townshend

Third Fisherman: Master, I marvel how the fishes live in the sea.

First Fisherman: Why, as men do a-land; the great ones eat up the little ones.

— Pericles, Prince of Tyre, Shakespeare

Gosh, that’s just what I needed. A foreign columnist explaining my government and my constitution to me. I’m sure you watched the proceedings in the House, and that’s why you feel entitled to post that wonderful opinion piece.
I can tell you illegal and governmental compliment Illegal immigration has cost me a huge portion of my lifetime income in my construction industry, and I can speak pretty good broken Spanish to prove it. We in this country have a big disagreement about this. I know people on both sides, generally we don’t talk about it.
Come next November the American people will speak to this one party impeachment, which wasn’t even unanimous amongst Democrats. I know who I’ll be voting for, and I have some pretty good reasons why, and it ain’t because they have an R or D behind their name.
Twopass, if you are an American, I respect your right to your opinion. If you are not, kiss my backside. I’m 58 years old, don’t care if you’re 30 years younger, I’ll send you an address and I’ll tell you to your face.

"I sit in one of the dives

On Fifty-Second Street

Uncertain and afraid

As the clever hopes expire

Of a low dishonest decade."

A Pew Research Center study published earlier this year indicated that nearly half the planet now considers the U.S. “a major threat” to their nations.
