got it....my Mountain Tour 51's are still sitting there unskied due to injury- that is chilling my GAS for now. You need a pair of "buffer" skis to keep you from ordering new ones. I can look forward to these without ordering more!
I'm happy to support Sport Albert if possible though - other than eating the $80 shipping charge they are the "ultimate", almost like a Vatican of XCD and all things nordic. I see Amundsen got a graphics tuneup this year also. I'm glad they're still selling the NATO combats with heavier weight and no rocker as well, so few companies keep the old offerings around after a new product introduction.
I want to order a pair of the Combat kicker skins with the locking pin on the tails, I don't think Neptune is stocking them, I may have to use Sport Albert. The one thing they don't have is Crispi 3-pin boots which is too bad.

On the one tour between injuries last year I did a 2,000 foot climb (sherburne trail at Mt. Wash) with the Combats and at the top the tails of the kicker skins had come off and become twisted up. Seems like the tail attachment would be perfect, maybe I should get some kind of rivet gun type thing and modify the standard skins. The kickers were just right for the moderate climb, I was blowing by people with full skins on AT gear the whole way, and I wasn't even in good cardio shape.

but they would have laughed at my flailing on the way down! It took 1000 of the 2000 vertical for me to remember how to make tele turns. I got nice support & encouragment from some skimo guys on the way up though. Everyone remembers trying to learn how to tele.

I will be looking forward to my catalogue next year. Will it come in English or German. I speak broken Spanish, if I were to learn a third language French would be my first choice. Of course the Latinos are happy and supportive that I attempt to speak their language. I doubt broken French would go as far
BTW, the new skins arrived from Neptune. This years X-skins WOO HOO!
I ordered the 45 cm Mohair skins
