he will ski in his normal incredulably smooth style. He can probably ski like that on some hewn 1" x 4" 's.

With what people call Telemark, beefy bindings and plastic boots, you can control, chop and dissect terrain to get you down there. It's pretty easy...

With Cross-Country Downhill, floppy shoes, pins and bars, you do not have any control over anything. Try to fight and you will fall. Try to control and you will fall. You are only left with one single option on the descent: Smoothness. Let your body and skis flow with the snow. Just imagine you are dancing with nature herself, dancing with God. Do not fight, do not try to control nature, you will never win over her. Never try to be aggressive with her. In fact, in pretty much any situation in this realm, you will fail as soon as your start to fight over the natural way. (Bla bla bla Johnny...)

I see a lot of people trying to ski XC downhill just like they do on plastic boots. They fight (and fall) all the way down. It's a different sport, with a different technique, no matter what they say elsewhere...

Smoothness is the key with XCD... Smooth and cool... Nice and easy...
And that is why we love it so much...

What length Ingstad you gonna get?

I was into the 205's, but Frank at Asnes really recommended the 195's for me. He is bigger than me and he personally uses the 195... I trust these guys...

I trust these guys too. And- I would ASSUME that you are going to be focused on the DOWNHILL in XCD? If so, I am not surprised they are suggesting the 195cm- tighter radius, and easier to equally flex them.

For me- in my everyday rolling, hilly terrain, I think I would want the 205cm...BUT- when I get to the point of actually buying one, I shall have to ask for Asnes' advice as well!

Not necessarily. I never force skis to do what I want... I let them be what they are and ski them accordingly...

I am now curious- did Asnes offer you a clear explanation of why to choose the 195cm?

No explanation... I suggested the 205's and he recommended the 195's instead...

I guess the camber on the 205 must be for 200lbs+ guys...
