Haute Route

The well-known Haute Route from Argentière to Zermatt.

Just as with "Mina og meg", this is not a report on one of my tours (although I've done the tour once), but a professionally-produced documentary by SRF, the main Swiss broadcaster. It was filmed in late April 2018.

The docu brings together seven people of diverse backgrounds, two of them ex-profi ski racers (one an Olympic Gold Medalist), and follows their progress on this very popular classic tour which, although not excessively demanding is also by no means easy. They are accompanied by two professional mountain guides, one of whom (former chief of Zermatt Mountain Rescue) becomes ill on the first day and is evacuated by the documentary support team.

They could have done without the excruciating "space yodelling", but the film gives a good impression of what the tour is really like.

Commentary in High German, subtitles in German, dialogue in Swiss German. Video in three episodes of approximately 45 min. each:
