Yeah the Bre and Svartisen are great, but I've been trying to get the lightweight Nordland Hook in 75mm for 3 years now and they just aren't available.

It's funny, putting em side by side the cuff on Hook isn't _that_ much shorter than Bre but it feels like night and day, and it's not like Bre is a super supportive stiff heavy boot. I literally can't imagine a better boot than Hook for straight up xc touring without the need to power steep abrupt downhill turns. This boot is why I refuse to move from nnnbc on certain rigs, especially my Finnmark which has no edges and weighs little. Super light combo. I would love to find a boot somewhat similar for straight nnn system. All boots nowadays are racing oriented. I would willingly sacrifice 50% weight for 50% comfort because when in groomed tracks while I like to go fast I am not in a race and will do 20km at least.

@Jurassic

.......now where did I put that tinfoil hat?"

Hey man I'm confused, why did you take off the hat? Aren't you committed?

Tinfoil hats are, by their very nature, quite flimsy and can easily be blown off by a strong wind – especially if the source of the wind is an internet influencer who is trying to persuade us to buy stuff.

What size do you take and where (country) have you looked? Have you considered ordering from a European dealer? The postage costs would be offset to some extent by the deduction of EU VAT (ca.20%) before export to a non-EU country. The boot does appear to be available.
First Telemarkdown in the US said they would get me a pair, then when that didn't happen I looked up all the Crispi dealers in Europe and contacted many of them but was told they weren't available.
I have the BC version in 46 but may decide on the 45 in 75mm. Just have to check the fit again.

Edit: this is so far the Holy Grail 3 pin boot for me and I would gladly buy two from you, whoever you are.

If we can get a group deal I would buy this boot in 40 assuming 75mm fit is the same as nnnbc fit.

Those are all NNNBC, he was looking for a 75mm version.

Yeah this is the reality. There is not currently a full range of 75mm boots available. Many parts of the wide spectrum of the binding system's application are well covered, but the only lightweight boots available are the cheaply made Whitewoods boots. Maybe the Montana by Alpina? Telemark Pyrenees seems to be phasing out all of their stock of Alico 3 pin boots.

Sorry thread drift

Back on topic, Rottefella had boot companies the world over falling all over themselves to show their chops with modern technology utilizing the new Explore system. Meanwhile they quietly released their answer to Voile's venerable 3PC, Traverse, Hardwire triumvirate and yet just crickets on the duckbill front from our boot making friends in the Italian Alps and thereabouts.
