Just saw an ad for new old stock "Black Diamond XCD" bindings: 75mm 3-pin rat traps which look identical to Voile HD mountaineer or R'fella ST.

Does anyone know more about these? Especially regarding fit to thickness of duckbills and/or durability. :?:
Thanks!

I've been using a pair of the original Chouinard's, pre-dating the existence of Black Diamond. While they do bear a close resemblance to the Voile's, there are a couple of subtle differences worth noting.
Notice that the Voile's are riveted on the inner side of the sidewalls; the Chouinard/BD's rivet on the outer side. Can't say I feel a difference in performance from Voile's with that, but I do notice the sidewalls on the Voile's flex a bit when rotating the bail, the BD's don't.The bails on the BD are a bit wider than the Voile's, and visibly cover more of the duckbill. Fuller contact, and moves the pivot oint back a hair.
Fitwise, they're same, or close enough not to notice a difference,in terms of the three setting. As with the Voile's, they lean toward fitting full thickness soles more than thinner soles.

I've always considered the Super Tele's distinctly more XC/d oriented, the BD's or Voile's more xc/D, if you will. BD/Voile are bomber, but Super Tele breakage is extremely rare, but bending the bail when fitting some full soles... a little more common.

Best 3 pin binding ever made IMO, Snap it up. I would but I already have 3 back up pairs!

Update: received a bunch of these BD XCD bindings: they are identical to the Rottefella Extreme.
When fitting my Alico Ski March I have to press hard to close the binding to 1st click, exactly the same as with the Rottefella Extreme. When fitting an Alpina Alaska 75 I can very easily close the first click with bare hands.
20 more available from the seller in Germany for 10 EUR per pair: to be found on kleinanzeigen :
