Alpina Alaska lace-cleat-closed loop fix
I have resolved my frustration with the updated lacing system on the Alpina Alaska (the open locking cleat, with the closed synthetic loop above it)-
Surgeon's knot above the locking cleat- works like a charm- just in time for snow here!!

Unashamed to be a "cross-country type" and love skiing down-hill.

Geez Gareth! You were the man that taught me the surgeons knot! I’ve been using it from day 1 on my Alaska. The surgeon knot was instrumental for break in and all around comfort in my Ski March. From my Ski March experience, it was intuitive to me to use the surgeon knot above the locking cleat on the Alaska.
Thank you for all the help over the years. Looking forward to photos from the farm this season. Your clan is growing up too, I believe your oldest son is a young man now?
Nice to see your posts

Hi Bob!
HA! Yes- you would think I would have seen that immediately as well!
Yes- my oldest son is 19-years-old this month and my oldest daughter graduates from high school in June!
The two youngest are ready for snow! SO AM I!
Gareth
