Décathlon selling a reasonable looking backcountry pole dead cheap? Make sure to use your country's site.

AT gear, climbing skins, and skin-savers too.

Neptune has 22-23 Åsnes skis in stock

Post by fgd135 » Wed Oct 26, 2022 5:28 pm

From an email I received just today:

Åsnes Skis Have Arrived!
We have been fielding non-stop requests for information about when our Åsnes shipment is going to arrive and it's finally here!
Gary Neptune himself traveled to Norway in the 1980s to bring Åsnes to North America. Even now, Neptune Mountaineering is one of only three retailers with Åsnes inventory in the United States (one of six in North America) and Neptune carries over a dozen different models of Åsnes skis—including a number of waxless variations.

Come in and get sized for the perfect Åsnes ski for you!

Says they are sold out of the largest models of Amundsun and Gamme, except in waxless. Convinced a friend of mine those were the skis he needed, one of those two, but evidently he won't be getting them this year.

I keep waiting for a redesigned Gamme top sheet. If Åsnes is determined to keep the quirky portrait theme I nominate this photo

Preferably with a darker color scheme and no #$%@ing teal!

I fear Åsnes will chose this photo and a pink color scheme honoring his baby Vilja.

Thread drift....

Thanks, will call em tomorrow morning. My friend weighs >220lbs and is 6'2" and skis mostly flat so I figuere Amundsen 208 is the ski he would need.

Guy said they're due to get more items in sometime this month. I also asked him why so many waxless versions and he said that's what people want. Weird.
