These 99s were my first non-wood teleski. The double camber made them great for waxing up snd gliding down. Mine were 220s, which were hard to turn in the woods. They seem pretty much bullet proof; the 3-pin binding screw holes wore out, but the ski never broke or delaminated.

Fischer Europa a wonderful ski....Have a set which are 215's and I plan on using them on cruises into the forest...Skiing them well is entirely different from most downhill centered skis...But....once you get the feel....you will be hooked...Need to wax them up to make them fly like a Peregrine Falcon...Literally because if you "turn" them they lose speed and drop or stop...They need speed to arc and do they ever.....But you better pick your openings and prepare for a wild ride...TM

Don't know the specific year, but seem to remember those being common in the 80's, maybe early 90's... weren't that many edged skis to choose from in that era. Never skied 'em, but I'd say greatgt offers a a fair perspective. Fischers, particularly the older the model, tend to favor glide (xc performance). Not what you'd call a turny ski, but they can be made to turn (just don't be in a hurry). They are solid and well built.
Those bindings are early issue NNN BC's... they'll be brittle; I wouldn't put a lot of faith in 'em.

phoenix, thanks for the heads-up.
greatgt, those in the picture are 215s off eBay. I would go for 220s if they came up. Really regret parting with my 220 wood Tur Langrenns 10 or 15 years ago! They sat collecting dust so long, I thought I might never use them again — I just didn’t wait long enough.

I have been skiing 99's since the beginning....They will break....heh....especially the long ones...Remember Smashed Knee Tele going down the Corkscrew a really old road from Hardwick to Woodbury going by Buck Lake....My grandfather used to take some of his Granite down that two horse wide road...The Corkscrew they had to put up pulleys so the load wouldn't kill the horses...Smashed Knee went down that sucker really fast and skied up the sides then would plunge into the road until.......the final corner....where....he went up and started to fly....way up in the air...at speed....tips toward the sky.....tails 6 feet plus up....pointing toward the road....CRACK>....snapped both at the same time.....They are a really fast ski that can slice through anything.....As said above.....initiate the turn and they will at some point start to come around...have lots of different skis but those are the most thrilling and in deep powder they ride beautifully.......Waxed up my 205's and will soon wax the 215's...TM

Re: Fisher europa 99 st
That's an early-mid 1980's E99. Very durable ski with a wood core, a softer tip, and camber that makes it great for good glide and trail skiing-- but that soft tip and wax pocket defeat most tele turns on hard snow. That ski would be perfect for ungroomed rolling terrain and trails that sometimes get a bit icy.

Re: Fisher europa 99 st
Thanks everyone for the info and feedback!
I figured for $39 off eBay I couldn't go too far wrong.
And that it would be a good early season ski that I wouldn't freak out about if/when I run over some rocks.

My Europa 99s just died this week after 35 years of hard use! An amazing ski for rolling terrain, with a double camber that lets you kick and glide. Throw skins on them for a comfortable climb and back in the mid-80s I did lots of lift skiing with them as well. If anyone has or knows of a pair 205 cm, I'd gladly buy them!
