Rub on glide wax
I just bought a little block of rub on glide wax at the checkout counter at the ski shop for a $1.49. It's hard and you cork it in. It has ONEBALL stamped on it. Anybody ever use it? It smells like a candle.

Re: Rub on glide wax
I mounted a pair of bindings and waks up a pair of skis yesterday. I was all dressed up and ready to go when I got a kall that I was needed to babysit my grandkids. Today is the day, it did go on real nise and smooth and felt like hot waks when I was done. With temps below zero it will be a good day to test it

Re: Rub on glide wax
The wax seemed to work pretty good. I was hoping to use waxable skis but that Toko kick wax I have was too soft and it was draggy on the up and grabby on the down. When I scraped enough off to get rid of the drag they had good glide but I lost my kick.
So I put it on my no wax bushwackers, tip to tails including the scales, and they worked good. By the end of my tour, a little over 5 miles and 1100 vertical feet of turns, my skis felt sluggish and like I had assumed, upon inspection the wax was gone. I only put on two very thin layers and corked the crap out of it. Next time out I will put it on thicker, I didn't want to put too much on today with temps around zero. If I had the wax with me I would have reapplied on the trail.
All in all I'd say it worked good enough that I'm happy I didn't spend 18 bucks on that F4 product that I have used before with mixed results.

Re: Rub on glide wax
Two more points:
A candle or paraffin may have worked just as well
It's possible that you can rub on a temp spesifik glide waks that will work better but not be $1.49.
keyboards fucked up again
