Re: kom vs Fischer Sbound 125 advice please
"When clamping the Voile I resort to using my thumbs which can be uncomfortable." Shouldn't need to do that Wabene, I always simply click in pressing my ski pole tip down on the little dimple in the bail; I've always assumed that's why it's there (this does require a snug adjustment on adjustable po...

Re: Leather Ski Boots Construction (Part I)
I came across a recommendation for Seam Grip to seal the stitching a few decades ago; used it on a couple or few pairs of leathers and it help up flawlessly. I had a pair of 25 year old Alicos sealed with it, and they were in excellent shape, never any hint of de-lam.

Re: Need DIY repair advice
It's a little hard to get the full view from the photo angle, but I agree you're on the right track. Clean up the exposed core stuff, get the edge back as best you can; then some good slow set epoxy, and clamp in place. Maybe something rigged to compress from top to bottom and from the side.

"Would it be possible, I don’t really know how skis are constructed, to route out a channel in the ptex about 1/8” deep or so and maybe 30mm wide, basically the thickness of the base. Wouldn’t want to affect the flex properties of the ski. Then, ‘permanently’ afix a skin into the channel. Barge ceme...

Re: "You got old gear, man."
My first thought was also that your gear sounds pretty decent to me, especially given your skiing profile. I also get feeling it's time to renew. One other tidbit that would help is, which BD binding? The old Riva series (they had cables with simple expansion springs) work, but they are a little wea...

Re: NNN-BC and Cables?
There used to exist such a thing as a Rottefella NNN-BC with Cable, it was around for a few seasons in the 90's, as I recall. I haven't seen or heard of any around since then. It wasn't related to the Superloop at all, I think the cable action was integrated with the front throw of the BC's. I know ...

They do look to be the same skis that've been abundantly available and cheap for decades (literally). Straight, heavy, and stiff.

Re: Sbounds...leathers
'Bout the same over this way. Nordic trails were groomed, smooth, and the granular was nice and fast. Got to where I head up for a nice little glade run, found that crust really quick. Traversed up just to try a few turns; didn't go well; the old survival stem was not pretty, but managed a few turns...

Re: New Super Tele's and full thickness soles?
Thanks Jurassien, that covers it. I suppose the toe piece hasn't changed much in the decade or so since I last had a pair of the 3 pins, I skied them with some Alico leathers with good thick Norwegian welted sole, and I recall (vaguely) the fit was as you describe... quite snug on the first click.
