Re: Asnes Storetind- mounting

... And just so I am clear- Asnes is recommending pins on balance point- so even if the boot-center-mark/narrowest-point/balance-point all line up- like the FT62- pins on BP will still be further back than boot center. I may not be reading this right, but I would have thought if it all lines up pin...

Re: Asnes Storetind- mounting

... My friend- that just measured up the narrower FT62- told me that this ski does not have a boot center mark, that BP and the narrowest point line up perfectly, and that Asnes recommends balance point. I don't think Asnes expects anyone to mount an AT binding to the FT62.... That is very cool if ...

Re: Scott Excursions at the resort

That does seem like a pretty wide ski for learning tele on groomed, and pretty wide to be driven by the Excursion. I won't say much more about that because I'm generally aware of how much wider skis people now think are standard for "ice" or any firm hard snow at resorts. My preferences and expectat...

Re: please recommend a good XCD boot that comes in low volume women's last

Just a followup to let you know Rossi BC-X12 boots (and probably similar Fischers or Alpinas) can get stretched at the bootfitter. I wouldn't have thought a non-shell boot like this could benefit from stretching/punching. The toe box is just layers of vinyl and rubber glued together. I called Skimo ...

You're going to pick it up again faster than you think.

Re: Scott Excursions at the resort

I'm thinking it might be ideal for tele beginner learning on groomed. Assuming the ski chosen can be driven effectively by a light boot. My prejudice is beginners should have the most equipment advantages $ allows. Experienced skiers can enjoy a range of equipment compromises and Toni Matt can schus...

Re: Boot-Binding Compatibility

Sorry I didn't see you already got the hardwire before I posted my previous rec. Not a bad choice, especially if you're thinking the most temporary part of your set-up is your boots. Sounds like it's your boots you're most likely to replace in the next year or two, so it's good to build your kit for...

Re: Asnes Storetind- mounting

I should probably stay quiet too but you've already heard my preference for mounting boot center for turn-oriented tele skis with moderate (or more) side-cut. I've mounted a lot of various skis for tele- turning on groomed and learned to favor that boot-center over my previous practice of calculatin...

Re: Boot-Binding Compatibility

I remember a long time ago with overly soft leather boots liking the extra support of the 3pin plus cable. Like others said, the way it curves around the heel is better for a too-flexy boot than the heel throw. The issue I noticed back then doing tele turns in soft boots with only pins was the heel ...
