Re: NTN FreeDOM Mount Tale

Not seeing the picture.

There are lots of good reviews of the Meidjo. Icing affects some but not all. But everyone seems to love the way they ski.

Re: NTN FreeDOM Mount Tale

Which BD skis? Me thinks th problem is you are used to center mounted skis and now have a more traditional pair. Mounting on the recommended line and not liking it is not a fuck up. Agree that u need to ski them first.

Re: What was your biggest help in learning telemark?

Agree with Shenanigans. Practice. Be Patient. Push yourself, flail a lot, and drop back down to easier terrain and work on technique. Everyone began as a beginner and sucked. For me, it's the same for every sport. The learning phase is all about mechanics. The Telemarktips book mentioned above is go...

Whoa, didn't need that. Hilarious, I think. Hope you don't have any coworkers, at least not ones who telemark.

Re: Forward Lean: Scarpa TX Comp vs. T1?

Aimlessly wasting time (or purposefully wasting time), I looked up the specs for several of the boots in the chart above and who ever put that chart together (someone at Scapra I presume) didn't do a very good job. If you check out the specs of the individual boots on Scarpa's website, you'll find s...

Re: Forward Lean: Scarpa TX Comp vs. T1?

Don't think you'll get many responses re Tx Comps here, though there are definitely a few NTN users here. I don't know, sorry dude. I agree about the forward lean of the T1s and think you'd find the T2 Ecos or T2Xs (if you can find them) to be way better. Same for BD's 3 buckle boots (Seekers, which...

Re: Good telemark ski and binding for beginner?

Going to the resort is a great way to learn how to make telemark turns. As with any sport, the more you do it, the better you get. The gear I'd recommend would depend on the terrain you want to ski. If you want to ski 30 degree and steeper slopes, you'd want different gear than if you want to tour t...

Good info. TomH.

I would happily pay $25 for another pair of heels rather than moving those things back and forth.

Re: 22 Designs first NTN binding - Outlaw

Ouch. Well, the comparison was to NTN Freerides, and the Outlaws are price comparable, if not cheaper. Skiing is not a cheap sport, period. NTN bindings are no doubt on the upper end of the specturm. Voile Hardwire is on the lower end, but it ain't cheap. NNN-BC, Alpina boots, Fischer skis -- it ain...
