Re: Lundhags Boots
At 21 the Guide is about 1.75cm taller than my Alpina 1600 which, if it is stiffer in the ankle, should be pretty good for a skating boot. Given the choice, which would you skate in? I get a better fit through the ankle-calf with the Expedition- therefore, personally prefer the Expedition in all co...

Re: S-bound 98 and Nansen vs. Rabb 68
And BTW- my short Nansen is still a better carving ski than either. The scaled S98 is however simply sublime to tour-for-turns on spring snow and on low-vertical terrain with constant transitions. The grip is excellent- I didn't need skins at all on Saturday (though I would carry them and need them ...

Re: S-bound 98 and Nansen vs. Rabb 68
Hey @lilcliffy I'm curious why you went with the shorter length on the SB98? Interesting that you found it more stable on dense snow. I certainly debated over the 179 vs 189- but once I was able to confirm the camber and long effective edge of the current model- I am happy I chose the 179. This wil...

Re: S-bound 98 and Nansen vs. Rabb 68
Hello Peter, Great to hear from you! Question about your S-bound 98s: For an athletic person learning to tele in deep heavy snow with a pack on, would you recommend using Alpina Alaska 75 duckbills and a Voile 3-pin Hardwire with this ski? Seems like that might offer greater leverage and control of ...

Re: Fischer S-Bound vs Madshus Panorama
....but I really like Skaget...The only lacing upgrade would be the ball eyelets from Vista for less friction. 👍🏽👍🏽 A smooth surface for snow shedding and a membrane is the only upgrades I would want from such a boot. Have you treated the leather yet? If you treat the leather with a water-based cre...

Re: Fischer S-Bound vs Madshus Panorama
Salut André! Great to hear back from you! Sorry to hear about your poor snow conditions- we have had a bunch of rain here as well. I had some superb "spring" (very early!) skiing conditions here on Saturday, but by Sunday afternoon it was so warm there are now bare ground patches out in the open. Th...

Re: Changes in Fischer lineup?
FYI-
Just bought a current model S-Bound 98-
It has "Austria" printed on the top sheet, but had a sticker that said "made in Ukraine".

mca80 Guide BC vs Expedition BC: PXL_20240302_211040516.jpg Boot height: Guide BC→ 21cm Expedition BC→ 25.5cm The Expedition liners are thicker, warmer, and more absorbent. There are two different liners avaialable for the Expedition last- the standard- without a tongue; and the "pro" with a tongue...

ski flex pattern comparison- Ingstad/FTX/Rabb/S98/Nansen
Very early spring snow conditions here this first weekend of March in Central New Brunswick- (I am still expecting weeks of winter snow and associated weather) First ski on my new S-Bound 98- Spent a few hours doing laps on hills on beautiful warm corn snow- Sublime!
