The 184cm Kendos from last season are working great for me in MI on ice and the slightly softer versions of same

That’s funny, and true if you’re still skiing where I used to see you ski.

Re: 2022 Falketind 62 Xplore 196 cm First Impressions

I can break trail in 12”, that’s as deep as it’s been. I have kicked through drifted areas where the ski disappeared under the surface, but it was fully supportive. Now when you ask about length that’s a tougher question. While more cambered and stiffer than the previous model, it isn’t a classic do...

Re: Voile Resort Durability?

I haven’t heard anything negative about Voile durability. I check into a couple of forums, they are popular skis and I don’t hear much negative about them period. I know a lot of the Voile skis aren’t warranted for Telemark bindings. What I hear the problem is with people skiing T-1’s, Hammerheads o...

Re: Trail breaking ski

I have the new FT Xplore, I haven’t had it in deeper than a foot. It breaks trail fine. It does have rocker, but the ski is longitudinally stiff and fully supportive. It kicks and glides well. It’s really light, turns well. It is a really good ski. I’m 190 plus a pack, and the 196 suits me fine. Wha...

Re: Powder Touring Ski? Voile Hyper V6 BC?

esnichols1 Just so you get another opinion. The FT Xplore will easily out kick and glide the S-112, it is a better downhill ski as well. I really like it, however I would not put it in the downhill class of a Vector or a ski of that class. At least when your downhill is steep and deep. The S-112 ha...

Re: Summer storage

The first thing I would like to relate is that the backcountry technique I’ve learned here and from another source are a bit unorthodox to classic technique. In classic technique for cross country (grip wax) skiing you have a very defined wax pocket, and a glide zone. The wax pocket is stripped clea...

Re: Summer storage

bark-eater I promise this is my last comment. Kick/grip wax does not adhere well to glide wax. BP99 is a glide wax. I would not apply a glide wax in the kick wax pocket at all, ever. Since I use polar as a glide wax, and even though I sometimes ski at temperatures cold enough for polar to be my kic...

Re: The M Equipment MEIDJO 2.1 NTN Telemark Binding Review

SibrenDevos I apologize, I don’t even ski NTN, yet I made a foolish assumption. My only defense is it would be nice to see these manufacturers perfect these bindings for touring, and a releasable binding for Telemark skiing. As far as more pressure alpine touring being harder on the binding, my hyp...

Re: Summer storage

That Purl wax is a glide wax, grip wax does not adhere well to glide wax. I used to use paraffin for winter storage, now I just use Polar. I picked the Purl because it isn't represented as a glide wax. If it is what sort of base conditioning wax options are there? Or is straight canning paraffin a ...
