Re: Downgrading

With only 12 ski days in this season you would get more vertical in one day at the resort than you got all season. The wisest of all comments read on this thread. I mean, if I had never gone through this: tumblr_muzdfqs1Pn1sk8ij6o2_1280.jpg I never would have does this: 2.jpg 3.jpg The same goes fo...

Yes, a while ago. they are 84-68-74. I keep writing this up everywhere on this forum. I feel like a dog pissing my scent at every corner! Amazing forgotten skis. Closest modern ski to it is the Asnes Ingstad.

Re: Garmont Shell Sizes

I highly recommend going with intuition liners (pro tour being the best but the upcoming Crossfit BC might be interesting too). The rule for finding the right shell was being able to fit two fingers behind the ankle of your naked foot in an empty shell. Bgregoire: Do you use the Intuition Pro Tours...

Re: Downgrading

Yeh I guess if the snow is consistant and soft enough any gear will work, what will be the most fun, thats the question. I think the excursion with a light cable binding falls into the not too heavy not too light catagory, about perfect for maximum fun. I would upgrade the ski from the 10th Mts to ...

Re: Garmont Shell Sizes

Hers are Scotts. But I think it's all the same molds as the last run of Garmonts. I hate to spend $300 on just the shell though and then get a $175 liner on top of that. Lot of loot for boots! Take your time and find a cheap used pair. IMO, the shells have not really evolved since day 1. You can sp...

Re: Garmont Shell Sizes

Weird, My garmont excursions (last version before going Scott on us) simply have 27.5 on the inside boot part.... My "souvenir" was that the garmont shell was the same for say 27 and 27.5. Whatever it is or was, i believe it was the opposite of the T4s. I highly recommend going with intuition liners...

Re: Downgrading

If you take the xcd gear you can almost always find good snow on the edges of the green slopes. Beginners don't like to ski close to the trees. If the green runs are long enough you should be able to pick up a lot of speed. Ben, doing that with excursions with cable bindings is one thing but would ...

Re: Questions about NNN BC

Good to know. Thanks. Sounds like they might be good for nordic skates, where you don't want heel play. I tried ice skates in both a 75mm and NNN BC version this winter (sweden). The 75mm ones had locked heels. You'll feel more sturdy on them, perfect for rugged ice. But the heel play in NNN BC pro...
