Re: Asnes quiver of two

SkiLaronLee I still have a Gamme, have a Falketind Xplore, I also still have the Tindan 86 for more serious downhill touring. I still need at least 3. If I could justify it’s use I would buy a 205 cm Nansen for a turnier trail ski. Yes, I can turn Gamme, and my trails are twisty. I would buy the Na...

Re: Elan Ripstick 88 vs Atomic Maverick 86c

For a wood core piste ski I like my Summitcone Pariah. It’s 97 mm underfoot. I was kind of wary about all that width, but it was fine on Vermont firm. They have a ski in the high 80 mm for this year, similar core. That seems more reasonable to me, but I am handling 97 mm underfoot just fine. Check t...

Re: 2024 Quiver

Maybe you can find an older F-1 or F-3 with a bellows and tech heel. It might be the best of both worlds. I wish you the best of luck in your pursuits. Alaskans seem to have their own unique approaches. It’s interesting to an observer south of 45 north (not super for south).

Re: Style

What I got out of his videos is to keep your skis weighted throughout the turn and skiing with both skis equally. Agreed that this is actually the only thing that really matters. How to get this done is subtilely different depending on conditions, speed, ski flex, boot stiffness, binding activity, ...

Re: 2024 Quiver

Ingstads mounted AT? However you still Tele on the BD’s. I know skiing in Alaska is different. I learned quite a few years ago that it isn’t very wise to tell another man what he should do to enjoy himself. As a guy that really enjoys dropping a knee. Could you elaborate why you mount the Ingstad wi...

Re: Ski Recommendations for Multi-Day Winter Camping Trips in Ontario

I think @mca80 is spot on as he lives in similar terrain. I thought I would add an Xskin and a full skin if the trail is steep and thick woods make alternate routes difficult.

Re: Style

I would say A Tele, but I come from a PSIA Alpine background. Now I believe @lowangle al would say B Tele. Also I saw some nice tracks from @tkarhu made on Gamme’s with B Tele technique
I would still say A Tele ;) !
