Re: The NNN/BC Truth Thread

Mike - I tried a pair of Mountain and didn't like them for the reasons you mention - they're too low in the back to hold my heel down well. Looks like they've been discontinued. I would go with an NNNBC boot like Alaska over the Mountain. The Antarctic are still comfortable for striding but do much ...

Re: Fischer 2015-2016 product line-up???

The air core does make incredibly light skis - I wouldn't mind trying the current E99 in 210 or the E109. They need something to screw the bindings into though. I wonder if the current E109 has air under the binding section as well.

Re: Madshus Glittertind Wax vs Asnes Amundsen

we've got tons of nice touring trails like the Sourdough in the northeast mountains, but CO has the wider spaced trees and multitude of open bowls we don't have. there's lots of stuff to do around here though - I've always wanted to hit Acadia in Maine with good snow. The carriage trails would be a ...

Re: The NNN/BC Truth Thread

has anyone mentioned the biggest advantage of NNNBC….ease-of-removal at stream and road crossings. I've converted to 3-pin for now, but I see nothing negative w/ NNNBC - it absolutely rocks compared to all the older system bindings, I remember the one with the thin slot running down the binding with...

Re: Fischer 2015-2016 product line-up???

At least we still can swap around with different bindings systems. Remember the Salomon Pilot? Ugh. I put on the Voile 3 pin Cable on them. The EZ skins aren't too break-the-bank that much. At least, I wouldn't say not to Asnes because I'd have to get some Asnes skins. I'm interested to see the dur...

Re: Telemark

the boot? I think it was an older Alpina boot with lots of mileage on it. A duct-tape job would have been enough to get home but I didn't have any, just sort of shuffled 1-2 miles out with my foot resting on the ski.

Re: Telemark

I can see the future - "don't let grandpa catch you in those NNN boots boy!" the Norwegians use 3-pins too - I think Varg is still making them there, also Alico and Andrew both ship their leather 75mm boots to dealers up there. I did have a problem once with NNNBC, but it wasn't the bar or bin...

Re: Madshus Glittertind Wax vs Asnes Amundsen

I would go with Glittertind, I've handled them in the shop and they seemed nicely built. I like the blue color - looks like some are still around the on-line retailers. Would be a good complement to the Epochs, the Glittertind would be like an XC ski in comparison, but can still handle some downhill...

Re: Fischer 2015-2016 product line-up???

very nice - you need some snow! Which bindings did you choose for these? The EZ-skin is good for customer loyalty, once you buy some of the brand-specific skins, they've captured you!
