Re: Front skins with kicker skins instead of full length... anyone tried this?

If you’re on Hardangervidda right now and you can read this, it will soon be time to batten down the hatches. 17 m/s is 61 kph and just short of Beaufort 8 – not ideal for hanging out the washing. If it were me, I’d already be making a dash for the nearest haven. Bonjour Jura (bonjura?), I'll see y...

For those of us who can’t get enough of Norway (and I would be one of those),
Norway is the most beautiful place on Earth...and I live in the foothills of the Dolomites. Best Nordic ski touring too. Not so good at producing stand-up comedians

Re: Pictures, pictures and pictures!

Here some norway fjellski tour pictures of the Sylan massif, 1.5 hours drive from Trondheim. Nice!! I love the Shulzhytta! Great ambiance! The Swedish X-markers drive me crazy- they are even uglier in the summer time. Tour suggestion: a great tour where you will see almost nobody is just north of S...

Tour suggestion: a great tour where you will see almost nobody is just north of Sylan- ski from Meråker (or Storlien) to Snåsa using DNT cabins plus the two fjellgård (Gjefsjo...

Re: Gaiters for Alpina Alaska (or any nnnbc boot)

I checked with Berghaus and they said- no the sizing system is the same as before they are just out of XXL and XL and don't know when they will re-stock- same thing they told me 3 years ago! Really a wacky company, too bad because they make good stuff. So order up on them their size chart always run...

Re: Gaiters for Alpina Alaska (or any nnnbc boot)

Are the Berghaus Yeti Extrem Pros discontinued? Do those get in the way of the nnnbc toe bar? How about the Yeti Attaks. Or others... I have Berghaus Yeti Attak gaiters mounted on my Alpina Alaska boots. My boots are size 45 the gaiter is size XXL and fits perfectly. The Berghaus size-chart was way...

Re: Boot recommendation

If Alaska fits, they are awesome. They are not for wide feet. The “bigfoots” like their Alfa boots. Crispi are also a higher volume boot. I think the Transnordic would be a bit stiff to be a good match for an E-99. You will find that NNN-BC is actually better for downhill than an equal 75 mm boot w...

Re: Front skins with kicker skins instead of full length... anyone tried this?

Thanks. Funnily enough, I'm hoping for some strong winds... part of the reason for chosing Hardangervidda rather than somewhere more interesting in the North, was getting more solo experience with high winds on an open plateau (e.g. tent setup, snow walls, etc). The more picturesque mountainous are...
