Re: Smallest boots with BD O3s? First timer...

I once used those. My recollection, foggy for sure, is that they come in two sizes, std and short. You may have the standard and need the short, which can be swapped out. You should try contacting Black Diamond directly; maybe they have the short cables.

Re: Bindingfreedom

The Binding Freedom inserts are excellent. TomH covered it all. I do it by hand - hole punch, small bit, bigger bit, F bit with stop collar. Then I use a hand tap and guide -- it's important to tap to the bottom (but not over tap). When I've failed to go down all the way, I get a decent volcano effe...

Re: toe wear T-x pro from NTN Freeride?

I'm winging it here, but there seems to be a small amount of play with the good boot, so I wonder if the binding is bent and the little amount of play is, over time, wearing down the boot until there's a lot of play? I tend to doubt it has to do with your size/weight of your skis. You could easily f...

Re: Wide boots now that the Ener-G is gone??

You might try Black Diamond boots, though they are supposedly on their last year: http://www.earnyourturns.com/26257/black-diamond-tele-boots-sentenced-to-die/ Better, you might try Scott's Synergy, which is the closest thing to the EnerG's successor: http://www.earnyourturns.com/25531/telemark-boot...

Barely read any of it. Watched a couple short videos. Got the idea. Got nothing to add but an off-topic note re correct placement of Scarpa stickers.

Re: Check this new binding?

Good thing tele skiers are usually rich guys who can dump loads of cash on a binding. What's a Dynafit Radical go for these days? Nice thought. Maybe a nice product. Cost model doesn't work. But maybe that logic doesn't apply to tele? I think you mean skiers are rich guys, and it's all relative to ...

Re: The NNN/BC Truth Thread

I'm impressed, 25+ pages. The only tip I can offer is the black patches pictured below go inside the plastic boot to protect the liners. Really, they test one's dexterity while working in small spaces. https://scontent-b-sea.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/v/t1.0-9/10486430_10203987202794703_5509835822108...

Re: Check this new binding?

I think it's actually a bit less, around $570 but still high for bindings. But kudos to the dude who has been developing this thing.

Re: NTN/Alpine with inserts

TomH pretty much covered it all. You can swiss cheese your skis without worry, so I wouldn't think twice about putting in the holes for NTN and alpine. Looks like it will fit no problem but worst case is you move the alpine mount 1-2 cm forward. I do not do inserts with a drill press (don't own one)...
