My husband is asking why I need so many skis!
Tell him that if you were snowmobiling, it would be much more expensive... Everything's relative.

Re: Asnes Ski Length Body Weight Recommendations

I just purchased my first Asnes ski yesterday; the waxable Cecilie 175. For reference I'm 5ft3 and weigh 113 lbs. I ski with a light daypack most outings. Per the Asnes chart recommendations for my weight I'd be a 170 but with a hard floor camber test with the Neptune 175 works. I tried the 180 Nan...

Re: Åsnes Predator

I know you are somewhere in Norway (I assume you know the language); did you search on the norwegian side of the net? I tried «asnes rovdyr ski» (I allow you to laugh at me!); of course, I saw skiers and wolfs...

Some skis from the pre-internet era do not have much to tell.. But it is tempting!

Re: Asnes Cecilie Wax or Waxless?

Cecilie & Nansen = exact same ski... Cecilie is available in smaller size (+ a little marketing extra note).

Re: what's higher initial camber good for

Hum, good discussion you are starting here... I know for sure that you need to be more agressive when you unweight a ski that has higher camber; tips and tail tend to hook onto the snow. Then, why designing a ski with higher camber (with same camber, weight wise)? My take on this, is that it is prob...

Re: Combat NATO or Gamme 54, same same?

Salut Laurence, On a practical level, Amundsen and Gamme seem similar (except for camber height and stiffness). Nice thing about Asnes skis, is that it is well figured out which design for which purpose... Amundsen has been designed exactly for what you are doing; hut trip with pack. The Gamme is mo...

Re: Asnes Cecilie Wax or Waxless?

I was being a bit playful... But you seem to know the implications (from the explanations you gave us); again, I would say, you can't go wrong. Me? I would buy the wax version; like Al and Fish are saying, its much better (it's *kind* of subjective)... Better glide and very good grip. It's magic. Bu...

The wax version will make you happy... the waxeless will make you merry.
