Where I live blue IS a warm weather wax! I had only used kicker skins over special green or polar, with no issues. I have been too nervous about using them with extra blue, but will try.

I love simplicity, and the different eyelets on the Alaska are a bit bewildering.

That said, I'm not sure what others issues are here. I simply tie mine up and go skiing. I don't give it any thought. Four or five seasons on the same pair and no issues. YMMV.

Depends on the ski. In general I don't think so at all. Though with those more narrower skis (e.g. Ousland and Gamme) I would personally be inclined to put the standard NNN BC manuals (not magnums). But that is simply a personal preference. I do have the wider magnums on my Asnes Rago (57 mm waist) ...
