Re: Seeking Advice on NTN

What Wilco said. If you like Vices/Axls, you'll most likely like Outlaw Xs even better.

Re: How wrong is my ski/binding/boot setup

What bgregoire said. Those are the wrong boots for that set up. Those boots simply aren't stiff enough to get on edge or to handle that binding, which I imagine will quickly collapse as you initiate the turn. You should try plastic boots; they can be very comfortable. I personally am not a fan of th...

Re: Large or Small Rottefella NTN, how to tell?

3. Best advice, get Outlaw X. What is it about the Outlaw X that you prefer? I'm biased because I use Outlaw X and have far more days on them. That said, I think they're better because: 1. Tour function. Far superior and total free pivot. 2. Flex - much smoother and, at the lowest setting, seems fa...

Re: Meidjo with Alpine boots?

Although I don't have personal experience with the Meidjo I remember reading in a review that the release on the dynafit heel for the Meidjo is very weak and is meant to be used in conjunction with the second heel on the binding. I think the heel's release would be too weak to use by itself. Howeve...

Re: Large or Small Rottefella NTN, how to tell?

I may be buying a set of Rottefella NTN Freedom bindings from someone who does not know what size they have, and it's through the mail. They are orange and white. His boot size is 26, which it seems to me from what I have read it could be either small or large. I am new to all this, is there a way ...

Re: Bishop BMF or 22 Designs Outlaw

I don't know anyone who has skied both. There definitely are fans of the BMF, but I'd say the Outlaw X has a greater following, largely for the reason Johnny pointed out -- it connects to the duckbutt. But both are solid companies and I don't think you could go wrong with either. If you use Outlaw X...

Re: Scarpa T2s. What Year?

I think those were one generation before the T2X -- the first year they had thermoldable liners (instead of the lace-ups), circa 2004, 2005 -- and the last generation of T2 (then came T2X and then T2 Eco).

Re: 3.6 vs 4.1 drill bit

Maybe then it's due to what Atomic calls the "ultra-lightweight carbon insert that runs the length of the ski like a stabilizing backbone." In any event, I see no harm in using the 4.1 bit.

Re: 3.6 vs 4.1 drill bit

Well, yes, as I mentioned. My question was more why would a non-metal ski ask for 4.1? What skis you got? Could you be wrong about the metal? Is there metal just in the binding plate? Or perhaps carbon fiber in the topsheet? Using 4.1 for a non-metal ski seems unicorn rare to me. Softer materials s...

Re: Small/Large Axl Cable Switch.

Yes, unscrew heel tubes, swap, screw in heel tubes. You're good to go. That's the only difference between the large and small Axls.
